The Conference on Sustainable Campus 2021 (CCS2021), an event promoted by the Sustainable Campus Network, Portugal, which in this third edition will take place in a hybrid online regime, organized by the Polytechnic of Lisbon.
On October 28 and 29, 2021, we will have an appointment at the Lisbon School of Health Technology, in Parque das Nações, Portugal.
CCS2021 is a forum for discussion and reflection on the latest advances in research, innovation and practices in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Higher Education Institutions in Portugal and in Portuguese speaking countries.
Under the theme “SUSTAINABLE CAMPUS: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES” this event also aims to serve as a platform for collaboration and exchange of ideas between students, academics, researchers and specialists, in the search for intelligent and innovative solutions for a more sustainable future.
SUBMISSION
The official language of the Conference is Portuguese (English is optional).
Authors are invited to submit extended abstracts in Portuguese or English until July 5, 2021 (new date).
Abstracts must have a maximum length of two A4 pages and follow the format indicated in the Template of Abstracts.
The process of reviewing and approving contributions will be carried out by peers. The evaluation committee may change the type of communication initially indicated by the authors.
Each author can make a maximum of two presentations (oral and / or poster).
Authors will receive notification of acceptance by August 1, 2021 (new date).
A book of abstracts with ISBN in digital format will be edited.
In this event, the poster’s author has the possibility to make a short presentation of his work in the normal presentations of communications.
The submission of abstracts to the Conference on Sustainable Campus 2021 will be done using the EasyChair platform, and in the submission phase, the authors must indicate the desired form of presentation, whether oral communication or poster presentation. Smart initiatives and operations for a Sustainable Campus
In this topic, we intend to explore sustainability strategies and resource optimization in terms of energy, water, indoor comfort, lighting, air quality and sustainable mobility projects.
From linear to circular thinking
This topic explores the innovative strategies related to the paradigm of 5R(s) (Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) and circular economy.
Improving the social and cultural dimension of sustainability on Campus
This topic explores initiatives related to the social components of sustainability on campus, namely, accessibility, health and comfort, urban aesthetics, food and gastronomy, social responsibility, creation of green and sustainable spaces.
Smart Campus
It is intended to make known the innovative systems or technologies that, taking advantage of digital platforms and networks of smart sensors and actuators and/or scattered in various sectors of the campus, allow a more efficient use of spaces. For example, to improve efficiency in parking, lighting, heating, air quality, safety and maintenance of facilities, etc.
Education for sustainability
This topic seeks to disseminate innovation and pedagogical practices in teaching and curricula for sustainability in HEIs. Know the institutions that use their infrastructure as living laboratories (Living Lab) for the teaching of sustainability. It also includes initiatives involving the academic community and society, through campaigns, partnerships, etc.
Planning, governance and communication
This topic seeks to disseminate the way in which HEIs organize themselves, direct resources and prepare their plans, policies and strategies with a view to promoting sustainability. Communication and sustainability assessment initiatives on campus are also included.

All papers (full papers) submitted to and accepted at the 3rd Sustainable Campus Conference, as long as they meet the journal’s criteria and are subject to peer review, may be published in the journal Saúde & Tecnologia.
The scientific journal Saúde & Tecnologia, ISSN 1646-9704, is a free and open access journal, edited by the Lisbon School of Health Technology, with a semiannual periodicity (May and November). It is indexed in the DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), in the Fonte Académica database and all contents are deposited in the Scientific Repository of the Polytechnic of Lisbon.
REGISTRATION
Registration for the Conference on Sustainable Campus 2021 must be done exclusively electronically, by completing the registration form below and accompanied by the respective proof of payment.
Registration and payment are mandatory for all participants, including authors, and must be formalized until October 14, 2021. At least one of the authors of the communications (whether for oral or poster communication) that were accepted at CCS2021, must be registered, so that the submitted work can be presented and published.
Registration grants access to all plenary and parallel sessions (in person or at a distance), documentation, certificate, coffee breaks, as well as access to the specific area of the conference on the Campus by Fundação Altice platform.

For the payment of the registration, send an email to the treasury of the Politécnico de Lisboa (receita[@]sp.ipl.pt) with your name, address and Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), requesting the reference for payment. If registration is done through your institution, you must, cumulatively, indicate the name of the institution, the address and the respective TIN.
PROFORMA INVOICE ISSUE
If your institution needs a proforma invoice to justify the payment of expenses before registration, please send the request directly to the Politécnico de Lisboa treasury (see email address above), indicating your name, name of the institution, the address and the TIN, as well as the respective commitment / order number.
